High-Level Requirements for AT / Archon Integration Distributed

We are pleased to announce the availability of the first draft of high-level requirements for the integration of the Archivists’ Toolkit (AT) and Archon applications. These high-level requirements reflect all the functionality already current or pending for both the AT and Archon applications. They do not reflect functionality beyond the current development plans for each application, as such functionality would exceed the resources available and time frame for the first phase of the integration project. Archivists Toolkit Version 2.0

The AT Project Team is very pleased to announce the public release of version 2.0 of the Archivists’ Toolkit (AT), an open source collection management / metadata authority application funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. This release includes new features and supersedes version 1.5.9 released this past May.

New features added to AT 2.0 include:
• Revised Digital Object module, so that Digital Object records can be created and managed independent of Resource records.
• Tab-delimited Digital Object import
• Batch export of Digital Objects

Archivists' Toolkit and Archon to Integrate

In response to an invitation from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the New York University Libraries, University of California, San Diego Libraries, and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Libraries have agreed to submit a collaborative project proposal for the purpose of combining the best features of the Archivists’ Toolkit and Archon into a single hybrid application that will support description, collection management, and access of archival materials. SAA Archivists' Toolkit Roundtable

The Archivists' Toolkit Roundtable of the Society of American Archivists will hold its inaugural meeting on Wednesday, Aug 12th, 1-3pm, at the SAA Annual Conference in Austin, Texas.

Established in February 2009, the Archivists’ Toolkit Roundtable (ATRT) provides a forum for archivists from all types of repositories to identify and discuss key issues relevant to the Archivists' Toolkit (AT) software tool. Read more »

Brad Westbrook recipient of Archival Award of Excellence

Brad Westbrook received the "Archival Award of Excellence" from the California Historical Records Advisory Board for the leadership role he has played in developing the Archivists' Toolkit. In its award notification, the California Historical Records Advisory Board (CHRAB) recognized "the impact that the Archivists' Toolkit is having in California and beyond." Archivists' Tookit chosen to receive SAA’s 2008 C.F.W. Coker Award

The Archivists’ Toolkit team is the 2008 recipient of the C.F.W. Coker Award from the Society of American Archivists. The award recognizes finding aids, finding aid systems, innovative development in archival description, or descriptive tools that enable archivists to produce more effective finding aids.
