Installing on Linux machine.
Submitted by Barry Say on Wed, 01/04/2012 - 13:38
The download for the AT is a .bin file. Is this meant to be an executable? This is not a download method I have come across before. I use XFCE as my desktop but this form is apparently more common with KDE. I don't really want to change desktop and I am unhappy about experimenting with executing files which I dont understand. Is there any possibility of enlightenment on this one?
Thanks in advance
Barry

Re: Installing on Linux machine
Hi, Barry,
The *.bin file needs to be executed from the command line to install the Archivists' Toolkit client. You will probably also need to use the chmod command to make sure it executes properly (chmod 755 *.bin).
Best wishes,
Annie
