Unable to enter new database info in client

When I initially installed the AT, I created an internal database. However, we have since switched over to a MySQL database, so that multiple users can have access. I am trying to connect the client on a public computer to the new MySQL DB, but every time I try to open the client, I get this error message:

org.archiviststoolkit.exceptions.UnsupportedDatabaseType: database type is not supported.
Lost passwords

Several months ago I was testing the AT with MySQL on my laptop, but now I can't find the passwords to log into the AT. According to one note I found on this web site, I should be able to change the passwords in the users table in the MySQL database, which I have done. But the AT keeps telling me that the user or password is wrong. Is there anything I can do?

searching notes field

I was testing to see if my newly entered note would come up in my search results when searching “find by note text” and I see that it leaves out notes that are “Multi-part.” This is problematic since many of our notes are multi-part, especially Biographical/Historical notes. We do this because of field length and for formatting the notes (into multiple paragraphs).

Are we doing something incorrectly, or is this a known issue?

keep view access to repositories separate

yaaaa, no longer an issue. The fields that other users can see are actually helpful.

thanks for programming this the way it is. it helps a lot.

We have multiple repositories, but I've noticed that when I assing a user to a specific repository, with level 1 security rights, that user can still list everything when I am in names or Subjects. Is there a way to keep it to viewing only the repository information the user is assigned to?

Thanks,

embedding graphics in pdf output

In the repositories window under the setup menu there is an option for a branding device by entering the URI. I have been trying to make the logo for the school I work for show up in the pdf output on the title page for the finding aid. So far, I have not been able to make this work. Perhaps I am doing it wrong or that was not the intended purpose for the branding device line? My supervisor is also interested in including a QR code on the finding aid. Is there a way to embed these images in the pdf output? I've also noticed that the URL for the institution is not showing on the pdf either.

Searching Accession Records

Is there a way to search accession records by keyword across all fields? For instance, say you're searching for an item in your archives, and you remember it came with a recent accession, but you don't know whether that item is discoverable by way of the fields in the basic information, accession notes, or user defined tabs.

Many thanks,

AT 2.0 migration

Hello, we recently had to move our AT mysql database from one server to another. This was done using the documentation provided on FAQ on the archiviststoolkit.org website. The only tweak that we used with the documentation provided was we had to use the --compatible=mysql40 switch to get the data to import without errors.

Everything seemingly went fine except when a user searches on a
resource, they see the displayed results but do not see the subfolders
(referred to as siblings) beneath those results.

Main entry (110) in MARCXML export

For some resource records that I create, I put in multiple names as creators, and the system automatically sorts them alphabetically. I did not see a problem with this until I tried a MARCXML export for a record and noticed that the system chooses the first name in the list and puts it in the main entry field (110 in this case, since I am using corporate authors), and the rest of the names go into 710 fields. Is there any way I can stop this from happening? In this case, I don't want a main entry at all. I want all of the names to go into 710 fields.

Problem with 2.10 spell checker function

I have version 2.10 installed and the spell check is enabled, but nothing is happening. No underlining, no dialog box.
Problems with AT and multiple users

We have just move the Archivists Toolkit into production. When that happened things slowed to a crawl and at least one critical feature stopped working. The main difference between what we started with and where we are now is that we have 3-4 people attempting to use this for serious work. A couple of people are merging names and subjects to correct problems from the old system, others are entering accessions.

Slowness on Accession List All

We've installed Archivists Toolkit on an Oracle database with about 6000 accessions and similar numbers of names, and subjects.

When we do a list all at of any of these it takes several minutes. When we do one for accessions it can take 10 minutes.

When I install your test bed on my computer each of these tasks is completed in seconds.

Our Oracle staff can see no activity on the database during this period, so we are stumped as to what is causing this.

Can anyone suggest a solution?

Thank you
Adding work stations after setup

I've just installed Archivist's Toolkit and initialized the database. I set the database up to one workstation and not the network. I wasn't thinking ahead to other staff inputting data in the future. Is it possible to allow other workstations access to the Toolkit later or is this a onetime setup? I haven't entered any data yet so can uninstall and reconfigure if necessary.

Thanks,
