I entered my root password and clicked the return/enter button I could see a glimpse of "error 1045" before the screen disappeared instead of a welcome message. Help Thanks.

Installer can't find JRE - with or without VM

Hi all,
I'm trying to install 2_0u14 to a FreeBSD workstation. I have Java installed:
> java -version openjdk version "1.6.0_32" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_32-b27) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.0-b12, mixed mode)

but both installers (2_0u14.bin and 2_0u14_NoVM.bin) can't seem to find the JRE included with OpenJDK. From what I can determine, there isn't a jre executable in my $PATH, but that shouldn't be a problem for the VM-included .bin, right?

Any advice or suggestions would be most appreciated.

SQL Server 2008 and AT 2.0

We have been using AT 2.0 for a year, with SQL Server 2005 as the back end. We need to move the database to a new server. When I move the database to a SQL Server 2008 server, I cannot connect. I get an error from the database connection that the server is not a SQL Server.

I have temporarily migrated to another SQL Server 2005 server, and everything is working fine. Is it possible to run AT 2.0 with a SQL Server 2008 back end?

Instead it is redirected here: http://www.mysql.com/products/workbench/

The Create blank database instructions do not seem to coincide with the Workbench once downloaded and installed.

What is the equivalent of the instructional step 2 (Click on Catalogs) in this Workbench?

Hi all,

We're trying to debug an issue with the installation of the AT client (2.0), configured to use the mini internal HyperSQL 2.0 database. The client is installed on Windows 7 (also tested on Windows XP).

When running through the installation steps outlined here: http://archiviststoolkit.org/sites/default/files/ATInternalDatabaseInsta...

... we run into a snag on the step at the top of p. 5 ("This selection will populate the other connection setting fields..."), which involves initializing the database. Once hitting the Next button, we get this error:

Our small repository, having only three operating PCs working off a networked server would like to share the HSQL internal database set up on the archivist's desktop. But when we tried to configure our second machine to read the database at its URL destination on the server, it would not read the database giving a server acquisition failure error message. We have attempted to find other solutions online, including working through the HSQL Guide, but with no results. Could anyone offer any possible way around this lockout.

The download for the AT is a .bin file. Is this meant to be an executable? This is not a download method I have come across before. I use XFCE as my desktop but this form is apparently more common with KDE. I don't really want to change desktop and I am unhappy about experimenting with executing files which I dont understand. Is there any possibility of enlightenment on this one?

Specified key was too long ...

Using the Maintenance program I initiated a new MySQL database. This error was displayed after I entered User Information: "Specified key was too long; max key length is 1000 bytes."
The Maintenance program doesn't give any option to go Previous or Next or Finish, only cancel.

I can see a record created in the user table for the user name I entered and this for the password:
"[BLOB - 16 B]".

My password was 8 characters, with uppercase, lowercase, numbers and a symbol. Is this the cause of the error, or something else?

There is a problem initializing hibernate. Please contact your system administrator.

I scanned 1500 slides and negatives and thought AT/MySQL might be a way to archive them. After installing both on my PC, I ran AT and I get this error: "There is a problem initializing hibernate. Please contact your system administrator."

I tried it again and it says: "There is a problem with the database connection. Please check the settings and try again"

It's unclear what username/password I need to use. Username is pre-filled with "SA"

Unable to connect to Microsoft SQL Server Database

I just installed AT 2.0 and Microsoft SQL Server Express and am trying to get everything working. I immediately got this error message when attempting to initialize the database using the maintenance program:

"an sql error occured when checking if database is empty"

I have created a brand new install with a blank DB and it continues to give me the same error. I am able to connect just fine when setting up and OBDC connection to the SQL server but not with the AT application

Any help would be great.

Java VM or no Java VM?

I just installed AT and mySQL and am trying to get going. I immediately got this error message when attempting to initialize the database using the maintenance program:

"an sql error occured when checking if database is empty"

I am using the latest versions of AT, mySQL (5.1) and Java on a Win 2000 machine.

I created the database in mySQL using a simple command line, there are no users set up or anything else - just a blank database.

Everything is local, so these were my paameters in the AT maint prog Database Connection Information:

Hi i have installed Mysql server and archivists toolkit on my system.When i opened the toolkit for the first time it asked for connection url,username and password.What is connection url?I have enterd jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306 as the connection url.How should i fix this problem and start the toolkit.Can any one help me.Thank in advance.
