AT finding aid linking to externally-hosted digital objects: suggested strategy

Attached are suggested instructions for institutions using the Archivists’ Toolkit to generate EAD finding aids, in cases where they’d like those finding aids to contain links to digital objects managed in an external system (for example, CONTENTdm, Omeka, DSpace, Islandora, etc.).

AT 2.0 Stylesheets -- Updated for Multiple Instances

Updated Version 2.0 of the AT stylesheets (both HTML and PDF) that include fix the multiple instances bug.

To use these new stylesheets:

First, locate the current stylesheets within the AT program directory. The file path will be something like: C:\Program Files\Archivists' Toolkit\reports\Resources\eadToPdf (both old and new stylesheets should have the exact same file name: at_eadToHTML.xsl and at_eadToPDF.xsl)
Overwrite the files with the files attached below.

“End to End: Automating Digital Object Workflow” was presented by Jennifer Waxman and Nathan Stevens at the SAA Annual Meeting 2011 in Chicago. They described the development and implementation of a plug-in used at NYU for digital object workflow management. AT digital object metadata import: tab-delimited file "template"

The attached document comprises an Excel file, which can serve as a "template" and reference for formatting digital object metadata, for importing into the AT:

The first tab comprises the template -- the column headers map to the internal AT data model. You can use this as a target, for formatting your metadata for import. Retain the first row of data, which the AT needs for mapping the data on import. You'll need to ultimately save the file as a tab-delimited TXT file, for importing.
